Twitter To Launch Music Service Later This Month

Twitter Logo

According to reports Twitter, the social networking site, will be releasing a new app named 'Twitter Music' later this month. Last year, Twitter bought the music sharing service 'We Are Hunted' and subsequent developments have fuelled CNET to announce that Twitter has used the existing technology to build a standalone music app.

According to sources 'who are familiar with this matter', Twitter Music will reportedly have four main tabs dedicated to help users search for music and will be able to personalise each individuals suggestions based on the accounts a user currently follows. Focusing, once again, on the four dedicated tabs users will be able to select from a 'suggested music', 'popular', 'emerging' and hashtag (#nowplaying) tabs to complete their every need.

Unsurprisingly this is a move which compliments the 'adult rated' Vine video app that twitter launched last year, but unlike the standalone Vine app branding, this new emergence will keep its Twitter associateship.  Twitter, who has already created the @twittermusic account, is as of yet to comment or confirm the apps release, but it likely that Twitter Music will come in as a new competitor to other streaming sites such as Spotify and Pandora. It almost seems as if Facebook is living in the past compared to this new development.
